Right now my plan is to make a partition for Ubuntu and run some games over there to see if anything happens to hopefully be able to determine if it's an issue with the driver and Windows or maybe the driver and another driver or hardware.

Uninstalled all graphics drivers and played with on-board graphics capabilities - this was seemingly stable, albeit not a solution I'd like to settle with. Turned off Fast Startup in Windows (someone somewhere said it might have something to do with GPUs crashing). Tried all drivers with DDU wipe, same problem with each.

Made sure not to install it in future driver antics.Ĭlean uninstall (via DDU) and manually updated drivers to 16.2.ĭDU and roll back to 15.11.1 (reported as stable by someone on a forum who was having a similar problem to me). Uninstalled Gaming Evolved through Windows and found no instances in the registry. The only solution I've found on a forum anywhere is to just use a different graphics card, but as this is my first computer, I don't have any old ones lying around, nor do I have $2-300 lying around to buy a new one.ĭouble-checked that Raptr/Gaming Evolved were uninstalled. I am not running my GPU to its max potential, and am certainly not overclocking it, so I'm not convinced that it's a PSU issue. It should also be noted that this even happens on the older games I've been playing where I have to cap max fps either via Crimson or in-game. This, however, is uncommon and inconsistent. The first few times, my Event Viewer alluded to it being an issue with the graphics card, but lately it hasn't been telling me anything more than that it "rebooted without cleanly shutting down." It's also begun to occasionally forego the blue screens and simply restart (though this could be the fault of the monitor I'm using - it has a habit of losing connection if anything remotely unexpected happens with the HDMI signal). As hard as I might, I cannot pin down any specific event that triggers the crash.

It crashes and blue screens within an hour of gameplay of nearly any game I throw at it - DOTA2, TF2, Cities: Skylines, Dirty Bomb, Saint's Row III.

I built my first computer and chose this GPU to go with it, but have had nothing but problems.
